Last night was a great start for 1-800LoanMart’s official partners the Los Angeles Clippers’ road trip. 1-800LoanMart is a little bummed we won’t be able to see the Clippers again at the Staples center until the Eleventh, but we’ll be watching every game on Fox Sports West! Last night, the Clippers pulled off a 108-100 win against the Sacramento Kings, which was a great turn after their loss to Minnesota on Monday.
The back half proved to be the Clippers’ downfall on Tuesday, but this time around the Clippers paced themselves better and the bench really came through. The Clippers have had trouble finishing opponents in the past, but if they can keep playing games like this then they won’t have any more trouble winning in the future. The entire Clippers team pulled together and led a great offensive effort that had six players throwing up point totals in the double digit with Chris Paul leading at 22 points.
After the first half it was anyone’s game, but Chris Paul and Mo Williams kicked into high gear and brought the Kings down. What really helped was the Clippers had 30 assists and only turned over the ball nine times, which can often be a problem for the Clippers. Another wonder of the game was Bobby Simmons who threw up 13 points for Lob City. Like Kenyon Martin in his first game with the Clipps, Simmons was not gelling well with the team but it seems he has really gotten it together and is getting back to the way he played with the Clippers back in the 2004-2005 season.
The Clippers will be continuing on their road trip with a stop tonight in Phoenix. The Suns are tough team, but if the team can continue their performance from last night they should have no problems. After facing off against the Suns, the Clippers can take it easy for a day before they land in Houston. It’s a tough pace, but 1-800LoanMart is sure the guys can do it!
